Every year we gather with a few families on New year's Eve for a progressive dinner. There are an average of 3 homes and 6-8 families. One home for appetizers, another for dinner and the last for dessert.
At each home, there is an activity for all to participate from new years resolutions thrown in a jar, to a photo booth, to predictions of who's resolution is who's. It is hilarious to hear some of these that range from "less cavities" to "getting a girlfriend" to "start smoking"!
And just before the stroke of midnight, we head to the beach for a bonfire and fireworks. It is turning into a nice little tradition. One I am enjoying with my children now as they soon will be heading off to celebrations of their own with their friends and will not want to be out with their parents. If I could only slow down time.
Here are a few snaps from our annual photo booth. Please disregard the box of "beloved" props/dress up clothes as they may need to retire after this year (especially the cowboy hat….geez, where has that been?) My favorites of course are the ones taken of unsuspecting subjects. Much to the response of "Wait, I wasn't ready!". Exactly.
