monday musings

here are few things catching my eye this week...

top photo:  i want to take more pictures like this.  so beautiful.  so real.

bottom left:  i really want a camel hair coat.  one of my mom's signature items.  

bottom middle:  a favorite blog.  love this boys room.

bottom right:  i will make this.  for sure.  more dip.  raspberry chipotle black bean dip.

also, have you seen the movie, diana vreeland, the eye has to travel?  i found it fascinating.  here is a trailer.

a birthday bonfire for our 15 year old.  gasp.

right after they pushed carson into the snow covered azalea bush and i scolded him.  and then he quickly replied with, "you care more about the azalea bush than poor carson?".  he is a expert at diverting attention.

life lately [february]

snowstorms, school closings and cold weather have defined february for us.  we have experienced sort of a summer break in the winter as we have hardly been in school.  which means we won't have much of a summer.  

the boys have enjoyed the lazy days of sleeping in, staying up late, manhunt, basketball, movies and some reading.  and lots of food…lots.  these boys can eat.  and the dogs have enjoyed the company, the long walks and even the trash when we are not home.

we even took advantage of the conditions and spent a long weekend skiing at the kellers in blue knob, pennsylvania.  good family and friends, good food and exercise were a nice change of scenery and just what we needed during these long months of cold.

top photo: i have always been a fan of mixing patterns.  my mother said if you like it, then it will work.  i apply it to my home and my style.

bottom left:  oh how i wish i could keep a plant alive.  i love the color of these leaves.  and the world wide web says they are easy to care for.  oh really.

bottom middle:  pineapple ceviche.  if this is meant as a dip, you might not get a chip in if i am around.  have you ever seen me eat dip?

bottom right:  a girls room.  if i had a girl.
